Sorosis Park Playground Closure: New Installation on the Horizon

Sorosis Park Playground Closure: New Installation on the Horizon

From Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation:

The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 24, 2024 — Work will soon begin to replace the existing Tree Top Playground at Sorosis Park in The Dalles. The last day for public access to the playground is Wednesday, September 25. On Thursday, September 26, temporary fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the playground site to promote safety and limit access to the site.

Once the fencing is installed, District staff will begin dismantling the existing playground, and preparation of the site for the new playground will begin. Community members may pick up their donor art tiles and name boards from the existing playground at the Sorosis Park Tree Top playground site during the following days and times:

Friday, October 4, 4-7 p.m.

Saturday, October 5, 9-11 a.m.

Sunday, October 6, 4-6 p.m.

Tuesday, October 8, 4-6 p.m.

Wednesday, October 9, 4-6 p.m.

Donor tiles and boards that are not claimed will be retained by the District to be incorporated into a future community legacy project at the playground site after completion of the new playground installation. Individuals who wish to have their donor tiles and boards included in the future community legacy project at the playground site do not need to pick them up at the dates and times listed above and the District will include them in the future project.
