The Dalles, Ore., March 17, 2026 — The sound of pipes, song and a bit of Irish spirit filled Old St. Peter’s Landmark Tuesday night as the annual “St. Pat’s at St. Pete’s” concert delivered a lively dose of St. Patrick’s Day cheer to a packed house.
Call it good music, good company and plenty of craic — the kind that keeps toes tapping and faces smiling.
The free community concert, hosted at the historic venue at 405 Lincoln St., brought together the Cascade Singers under the direction of Paul Beasley, along with guest bagpiper Rory O'Halloran, for an evening steeped in Irish tradition.
Rory O’Halloran makes his entrance at St. Pete’s Landmark after making a stop at Freebridge brewing earlier in the evening.
From the first notes, the room carried that unmistakable St. Patrick’s Day energy — a mix of reverence and revelry. The Cascade Singers filled the space with rich harmonies, while O’Halloran’s pipes echoed through the historic rafters, giving the performance a stirring, almost timeless feel.
The program leaned into Irish favorites, blending soulful ballads with upbeat jigs and reels. Familiar tunes like “Danny Boy,” “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” and “Whiskey in a Jar” had the audience swaying along, some quietly singing under their breath.
And while there may not have been a dance floor, more than a few in attendance looked ready to jump up and join in.
Held inside Old St. Peter's Landmark, the concert also served a deeper purpose. Donations collected during the evening support the ongoing preservation of the historic building — a fitting backdrop for a night rooted in tradition.
