Sticking up and tearing down in TD

Robert Ward of North Plains picks up his cones on Friday, Oct. 6, after finishing the stucco job on the new event center being built next to the Last Stop Saloon in the 200 block of East Second Street. Part Owner, Todd Carpenter looks on from the side - see shadow. Ward said it was a knockdown stucco finish that took about a week to complete. He operates Custom Design and Construction out of North Plains just west of Hillsboro.

Just down the street, Konell Construction and Demolition of Sandy has broken open the backside of the Tony’s Town and Country building where it abuts the neighboring building.

Tony’s is at 401-407 E. Second Street, The Dalles

It appears they are taking numerous precautions to ensure no harm is done to the building to the east as they work on bringing down Tony’s. Demolition of Tony’s is expected to be completed this month.
