Tabletop RPG Event Brings Imagination and Excitement to The Dalles Library

The Dalles, Ore. Dec. 23, 2024 — On Saturday, Dec. 21, The Dalles Public Library hosted a tabletop role-playing game (RPG) event led by Mike Middleton, aimed at introducing new players to the world of Dungeons & Dragons.

Middleton, an experienced game master, guided participants through an exciting adventure designed to spark imagination and build enthusiasm for WagonCon, a popular gaming convention set to return to The Dalles in May.

The event drew a group of new players, many of whom experienced the thrill of tabletop RPGs for the first time. Using only their imaginations and a few dice rolls, players battled hordes of kobolds and explored the collaborative storytelling that defines the game.

“The smiles on the kids’ faces as they worked together to take down enemies were priceless,” said Middleton. “Events like this show how much fun tabletop games can be and why they’re perfect for bringing people together.”

WagonCon, now a staple for gaming enthusiasts in the region, promises to feature a variety of gaming sessions, panels, and activities for fans of all ages. For more information, visit wagoncon.com.

The library event served as a preview of the creativity and camaraderie that WagonCon fosters, leaving participants excited for what’s to come.

“This was such a fun way to introduce new players to the hobby,” Middleton said. “I can’t wait to see them again at WagonCon.”
