Track Coach Jill Pearson brings us the first-half highlights for The Dalles High School Track Season. It’s hard to condense over a month of meets into a short list, but in honor of the lanes on the track, here are the top 8. Also, TDHS couriers will be in action for Senior Night at Wahtonka on April 19 when they match up against Estacada and Madras.
Shoes were poppin’ on the Fourth of July in The Dalles as runners lined up for the Rocket Run at Lewis Clark Festival Park at 7 a.m. Harriers put up some good numbers on a picture-perfect morning against the backdrop of the Columbia River along the Riverfront Trail.
Last week, however, at The Dalles’ final home meet and at the Dean Nice invitational in Gresham on April 29 - all eyes were on Zoe Dunn’s outstanding triple jump, which smashed her personal record by nearly three feet and obliterated the school record set by Sharon Engle in 1998.

Thursday, Oct. 14, was the Intermountain Conference’s “Preview” meet at Birch Creek Golf Course in Pendleton, the same course they will run for districts on the 27th. The competition was formidable, and so were the Riverhawks.
After a two-year hiatus, the inaugural season and community-run/walk is BACK! The hilly 3K AND 5K courses loop around Sorosis Park and CGCC on gravel, grass, and pavement. Runners and walkers of all ages and experiences are welcome.
