TD Council hands $50k back to Parks & Rec as room tax exceeds projection
City sends $50k to Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation to align with 1977 ordinance that put 2 percent of lodging tax toward parks. The money will assist the district in maintaining 8 community parks totaling more than 200 acres.

Intelligent Design: Oregon 3-Year-Old with 151 IQ Painting for Charity on his Birthday
Lawson Lundberg was thought to be speech delayed and possibly needing special education after being born 5 weeks early. Surprise! The three-year-old was recently found to have an IQ of 151. Know he wants to donate to charity by painting geographic locations in exchange for contributions to the March of Dimes, which helped him when he was born. UPDATE: Farmers, Firefighters appear to have contained Fire east of TD
The efforts of farmers, firefighters and air support appear to have contained the Wrentham Fire southeast of The Dalles. “Everything held through the night,” said Cynthia Kortge this morning, June 30 at 10 a.m. who was on the fire. “We were up until 4 a.m. We were able to get it stopped near Hastings Road and Summit Ridge.”
