The Board of Directors of the PUD is happy to announce its new Scholarship Program. This year, the Board will award three scholarships of $10,000 each. The awards will be paid directly to the educational institution in two annual $5,000 payments, upon confirmation of registration.
Howard Gonser was first elected to the Northern Wasco County PUD Board of Directors in 1987. During his 35 years of service, he served as president of the board seven times, as well as president of the Oregon PUD Association twice. Over the past three decades, many improvements were made to the PUD’s electrical infrastructure.
Next week The Dalles Public Works crews will finish curb-to-curb street sweeping throughout the City. Earlier this month crews began working from the east side of town sweeping on specific routes. See maps for details about next week’s routes.
Jeff Teel has been hired as the new Chief Operating Officer at Northern Wasco County PUD, working under PUD General Manager Roger Kline. The PUD and Teel face large challenges as the customer-owned utility continues to provide local residents with inexpensive electricity in an ever-changing environment of power policy.
