QLife is pushing the boundaries of rural broadband by seeking $10.4 million in federal funding, a bid to transform Wasco County’s connectivity with fiberoptic infrastructure that leaders say rivals the impact of rural electrification.

"Her energy, vision and commitment to our community will be invaluable as we work to expand affordable broadband access across Wasco County," added Tyler Stone, Wasco County Administrative Officer. Lance is also the Secretary for Dufur Volunteer Fire and Ambulance.

The vision of Q-Life is for every address in Wasco County to enjoy a higher quality of life and participate in education, healthcare, and the economy through a high-speed internet connection at a price point that they can afford.

“Taking the lessons learned from the pandemic, reliable high-speed internet is just as important as reliable electricity and water. Ensuring safe and affordable provision of essential human services is what utilities do, and what I do,” said Kline.
