Cooler temperatures and higher humidity allowed firefighters to strengthen the containment lines around the S-503 Fire last night on Warm Springs Reservation. Crews have bulked up to a total of 360, and containment of the blaze has doubled in the last day.

The S-503 Fire continues to burn in timber and grasses on the Confederated Tribe of the Warm Springs Reservation and privately owned in-holdings protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry. Initial attack activity is expected to increase as lightning activity moves through the area.
