Lighting it up at TD Skatepark; New lights will provide more hours in cooler temps
Overhead lights will soon illuminate the skate park and pump track during evening hours, a real boon to scooters, skaters, and bike bombers. The lights will become especially nice when the heat hits in coming months and the facility can be used into the evening hours when temperatures drop, said North Wasco County Parks and Recreation Director Scott Baker.

The first days of spring are starting to show here in the Dalles and it was a perfect day to spend outside. It was a warm day at the skate park on Feb. 23, when Landon Haynes, 15, Dufur was spotted grinding and flipping on his skateboard. There were many other kids there, but Landon was the most excited to show off his tricks.

The pair said they were taking the week off from work and camping at Deschutes River State Recreation Area while checking the area out. “Nobody’s got that,” Cassa said looking at the recently built Mountain Bike Skills Park near Safeway in The Dalles.
