30 local nonprofit partners with United Way were invited to submit nominations for individuals in need of transportation. The final decision was made by a team from Underriner Ford & Nissan in The Dalles, which also volunteered time to ensure the car was in excellent, safe, and reliable condition.

On Monday, United Way of the Columbia Gorge presented $104,000 to 27 non-profit organizations which do life changing work in the Columbia Gorge Community and to award the Outstanding Volunteer of Year awards.

The United Way of the Columbia Gorge held its annual Concert and Auction at the Bargeway Pub on Friday, July 21, bringing in a strong crowd of fun-loving donators who bid up items and bought into raffles to help 27 local nonprofits that focus on providing food, safety, and shelter.

Meals on Wheels volunteer Patrick McCraken doesn’t just deliver meals. He’s visiting his friends. And it is made possible, in part, by the United Way of the Columbia Gorge. United Way is holding its biggest fundraiser this Friday and tickets are still available.

Bringing Jennifer Batten, lead guitarist for Michael Jackson for four world tours, to The Dalles for a fundraiser. That’s just being a Smooth Criminal. Doing it all in the Backyard of the Bargeway Pub this Friday night while supporting The United Way of the Columbia Gorge? Cue the pyrotechnics. And that’s a go on the guitar solo!
