The free two day workshop was focused on providing a unique hands-on opportunity for 6th-10th graders to dive into science, technology, engineering, and math and enjoy healthy breakfasts, lunchs and snacks catered by Bargeway Pub & Catering.

In the settlement, announced by The Oregonian on Dec. 14, The Dalles agreed to provide public access to 10 years of data on Google’s water use and to honor future records requests.

On April 20th, Wasco County Commissioners will consider approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with 11 different taxing districts to share Google community service fee dollars which comes to 25% of Google’s property tax savings with a maximum payment of $2.5 million annually.

Wasco County Commissioners are set to consider a deal on Wednesday, October 20, to abate some $147 million in taxes on two new Google data plants. Ultimately, the question is do local leaders believe the taxes and fees set against Google will be enough for the community good. Will they give as much as they take in community resources?
