The Gorge Happiness Month challenge is well underway and community members, businesses, and organizations around the Gorge are busy checking off their calendar of happiness month activities and their ‘Daily 3’. The challenge invites people to focus on building scientifically proven ‘happiness habits' that improve happiness and help build strong connections in the community.

If you’re looking for a fast time, the course up at Sorosis Park in The Dalles might not be at the top of your list. Uneven hills throughout the park, plus the infamous “college hill” next to CGCC, make it among the toughest cross country races in the state. If you’re looking for a good time, though, it might be the right course for you.

Lyle Community Council will be hosting their first-ever “Walk About Lyle'' community fundraising event on September 25th from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. The Council hopes that the event will help foster community, promote healthy exercise and eating habits, celebrate the beauty and history of Lyle and raise awareness of the council’s efforts to better their community.
