County residents will vote on a new Hood River County District Attorney and several County Commissioner positions on May 21, 2024, as well as several measures including: bonds to replace the Aquatic Center; fund parks and trails, a five-year operating levy for Parks and Recreation services and a levy to improve fire and emergency medical services

North Wasco County Parks and Recreation Executive Director Scott Baker said he was pleased to report that NWCPRD has installed new irrigation, reseeded the lawn, and completed some tree plantings at Sorosis Park as a part of phase one of the Sorosis rehabilitation project.

“The city council unanimously approved the allocation of American Rescue Plan funds for the Sorosis Park Improvement Project ,” said Rich Mays, Mayor of The City of The Dalles, “We think it’s an important project for the community.”

North Wasco County Parks and Recreation District survey is seeking public input on replanting, rehabilitation, and changes to Sorosis Park to include in their strategic planning. The survey closes September 8th.

TD just scored a new bike and pedestrian trail on Mill Creek, giving residents and visitors a pedestrian-friendly place to walk or ride bikes and take in the beauty. It’s a healthy step for The Dalles as Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation Director Scott Baker pointed out it will safely provide greater access to parks and neighborhoods in years to come.
