It was a sea of red, white and blue today, July 4, in downtown the Dalles.

Happy Independence Day!

Hundreds gathered for The Dalles Fourth of July parade today at 10 a.m. with a host of events to follow. The celebration will culminate with the fireworks display launched from the center of the Columbia River between the Union Street boat dock and The Dalles Dam tonight at 10 p.m. Check out the schedule here.

The show will be the largest in Oregon, according to organizers. Click here to learn more about it.

And don’t forget the First Corps ARMY Rock Band starts at 7 p.m. at Lewis & Clark Festival Park and plays until the sky starts popping. Several food trucks will be set up at the park.

Sea Scouts provided a perfect banner for the day as their vessel is aptly named the USS Freedom.
