TDHS Class of 2026 honored with wide range of scholarships at annual awards night

By Joshuah Albert

The Dalles, Ore., April 28, 2026 — Dressed in formal attire and looking ahead to life after graduation, seniors at The Dalles High School gathered Tuesday night for one of their final milestones: Scholarship Awards Night, where thousands of dollars in local support were awarded to members of the Class of 2026.

Held in the school auditorium, the annual ceremony recognized not just academic achievement, but the community’s investment in its future workforce — from trades and technical careers to medicine, agriculture and higher education.

Principal Phil Williams opened the evening, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Evan Ortega, before a steady procession of presenters took the stage to award dozens of scholarships backed by local families, businesses and organizations.

Throughout the night, students walked the stage to accept awards that will help shape their next steps — whether heading to college, entering the workforce or pursuing specialized training. The range of scholarships reflected the region itself, with strong ties to agriculture, health care, public service and community involvement.
