Teens Beat the Heat With Water Hose, Ice Cream at Library Event
The Dalles, Ore., July 10, 2025 — Teens cooled off at The Dalles-Wasco County Library on Thursday evening, July 10, 2025, during a water gun and ice cream party hosted on the lower library patio.
On a hot summer day, kids aged 11 and up took part in tossing water balloons at each other before switching to a game of “Red Light, Green Light” played with a garden hose. Although only a couple of squirt guns made an appearance, the water balloons and hose kept the group laughing and soaked.
After the water games, the group gathered for ice cream and refreshments to wrap up the evening. The event, open to teens, was organized by the library as part of its summer programming.
It was a lighthearted way for teens to escape the heat and make summer memories at the library.
