The Dalles., Ore., July 1, 2025 — Remember those old-school Saturday night dating television shows—cheesy, dramatic, a little chaotic, and totally addictive?

How can you forget a contestant asking three eligible bachelors?

“If I were a piece of clothing, what would I be and how would you wear me?”

The Gorge Dating Show is bringing that energy back, but with a distinctly local twist. And it’s happening live this Wednesday night on the waterfront in The Dalles.

Presented by Bargeway Pub and Explore The Dalles, this weird-but-fun experiment in romance premieres Wednesday, July 2, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the Bargeway’s Waterfront Stage. The show blends the awkward charm of The Dating Game format with the real-life messiness of trying to meet someone in the Columbia Gorge.

Each show features:

  • A Catch of the Day: a local willing to go on a blind date in front of a crowd

  • Three mystery contestants trying to win that date—sight unseen

  • Audience signals so you can subtly declare your own dating status

  • $5 tarot readings for those who want to leave it to fate

  • A curated first date for the winning couple, with a follow-up to see how it went
