TDHS Graduation set for Saturday at Sorosis; here’s the scoop.
Graduation ceremonies for The Dalles High School will be held at Sorosis Park on Saturday, June 13.
Procession and speeches will begin at 9:15 a.m. and run until 10:25 a.m. It will be live streamed via the North Wasco County School District 21’s Facebook page.
Graduating seniors will be seated in the central parking area of Sorosis Park - the section of the park directly behind the Rose Garden. Guests will not be allowed at that time. The stage will be located nearest Vogt Fountain. “It is imperative that only graduating seniors are present during this time,” according to a TDHS news release. The school must abide by social distancing rules. Graduates are to be dressed in full graduation attire. After speeches, graduates will be dismissed and will need to leave the graduation area.
At 10:25 a.m., the first graduates and their guests will walk together to the stage where the graduate will be presented with their diploma. It is critical that graduates and their guests arrive as close to their selected time as possible. After each graduate receives their diploma and has their picture taken, graduates and their guests will leave the graduation area.
A video of the entire ceremony will be available at a later date.
“Graduates and guests are encouraged to wear face makes during the ceremony. However, graduates are welcome to remove their masks during photo opportunities such as the procession and receiving of their diplomas,” wrote TDHS Principal Kurt Evans in the release.
