The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 30, 2025 — The Dalles Public Library’s first week of December is packed with hands-on creativity, holiday fun and learning, including crafting workshops, gaming, storytime, a Bob Ross–style painting class and a free screening of the holiday classic “Home Alone.”

Monday, Dec. 1
Needle Felt Holiday Trees (Take & Make). The Dalles Public Library. Free. Kick off December with a festive take-and-make craft kit. One kit per person while supplies last.

Monday, Dec. 1
Snow Science Storytime, 10:30 a.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Explore winter weather, adaptations and water science through stories, songs and hands-on activities.

Tuesday, Dec. 2
Scheming Wives and High-Stakes Hilarity with Author Sue Hincenbergs (virtual), 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Open to teens and adults. Join an online discussion with debut author Sue Hincenbergs about her darkly humorous novel, “The Retirement Plan.” Registration required.

Wednesday, Dec. 3
Art Club: Printmaking, adults 1 p.m., teens 2:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Create a seasonal stamp or print, with a focus on holiday cards. Fabric options available.

Wednesday, Dec. 3
Candle Making with Adventurous Aromas, 5:30–7:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Drop in for a hands-on candle-making experience using healthy materials and seasonal scents.

Every Wednesday in December (through Dec. 7)
Nintendo Switch and Xbox Gaming, 3:45–4:45 p.m. The Dalles Public Library teen room. Free. Open teen gaming time featuring Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles.

Thursday, Dec. 4
Ugly Sweater DIY Workshop and After Party, 5:15–6:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Decorate a holiday sweater while enjoying hot cocoa and treats, then show off your creation.

Friday, Dec. 5
Coffee and Coloring, noon. The Dalles Public Library. Free. First Friday drop-in event with warm drinks and a variety of coloring supplies for a relaxing creative break.

Saturday, Dec. 6
Bob Ross Painting Class, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. The Dalles Public Library. Free. Open to teens and adults. Learn to paint in the style of Bob Ross with a certified instructor. Registration required; space is limited.

Saturday, Dec. 6
Christmas Movie at the Granada: “Home Alone,” noon. Granada Theatre, The Dalles. Free. A holiday movie break featuring the family classic. Free pizza lunch provided. Run time 102 minutes. Rated PG.

Winter Coat Exchange at the Library. The Dalles Public Library. Donate gently used winter coats of all sizes. Donations accepted Dec. 1–6 at the circulation desk.
