This Week at The Dalles Library: From carols to VR: The Dalles Library Rolls out a Packed Late December Calendar

The Dalles, Ore., Dec. 21, 2025 — Caroling by local students, take-and-make STEAM kits, teen gaming, and holiday closures highlight a full slate of late December events at The Dalles Public Library, with programs for children, teens, and families.
Monday, Dec. 22
Make Your Own Flashlight: Take & Make Kit, all day. The Dalles Public Library. School-age children and teens can pick up a kit to build a miniature flashlight using simple materials. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Tuesday, Dec. 23 through Dec. 24
Library closed for staff development all day. The Dalles Public Library. The library will be closed for staff training. Online services, including the catalog and digital resources, will remain available.
Thursday, Dec. 25
Closed for Christmas, all day. The Dalles Public Library, Southern Wasco Public Library, and Dufur Library will be closed in observance of Christmas.
Friday, Dec. 26
Fun Fridays, 3–4:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library Children’s Wing. A rotating series of activities for children ages 5–10, including arts, crafts, STEAM projects and games. All ages are welcome.
Fun Fridays for Teens (11+): Muddy Buddies, 3:30–4:30 p.m. The Dalles Public Library Teen Room. A hands-on teen program featuring snacks. Food may contain common allergens.
Saturday, Dec. 27
Open VR Gaming, 2–3 p.m. The Dalles Public Library Teen Room. Teens are invited to try virtual reality gaming. Six headsets are available.
Rock Collection: Take & Make Kit, all day. The Dalles Public Library. School-age children, teens, and adults can pick up a rock sample with a label and fact sheet. Available while supplies last.
