Monday, May 25

Closed for Memorial Day

The Dalles Public Library will be closed all day Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

Tuesday, May 26

Little Learners Lab: Kids in STEAM
11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Children’s Wing

Toddlers and preschoolers can explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through hands-on activities designed to encourage curiosity, creativity and discovery. Children must attend with an accompanying adult.

Wellness To-Go: Summer Ready Kits
4 to 5 p.m.

Teens can pick up a take-and-make wellness kit focused on supporting mental and physical health. Kits are intended for high school-aged students and are available while supplies last.

Puppet Workshop
5:30 to 6 p.m.
Children’s Wing

Children and their families can create and take home a unique puppet during this monthly hands-on craft program. Adult participation is required.

Wednesday, May 27

Minecraft Club
3 to 5 p.m.
Teen Room

Teens ages 11-17 can join fellow players on the library’s Minecraft server using library iPads. Registration is required due to limited equipment. Light snacks will be provided.

Thursday, May 28

Family Lego Pizza Night
5:30 to 7 p.m.
Meeting Room

Families of all ages are invited to enjoy pizza while building creative Lego projects together. The monthly event is open to preschoolers, school-age children, teens, and adults.

Friday, May 29

Fun Fridays for Teens: Mixed Media Art
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Teen Room

Teen artists can create unique projects using recycled materials, scrapbook paper and other craft supplies.

Fun Fridays: Watergun Fight
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Children’s Wing

Elementary-age children are invited to cool off with a water-themed afternoon of fun. The program is geared toward children ages 5-10, though all are welcome.

Clogging with Becky Huskey
5 to 6:15 p.m.
Meeting Room

Teens and adults can learn the basics of clogging during a seven-week dance series led by Becky Huskey. No experience is necessary. Registration is required.

Saturday, May 30

Sea Science Saturday
All day
Main Library

The library will transform into an ocean-themed learning center featuring crafts, scavenger hunts, collaborative displays, and educational activities throughout the day.

Special events include a storytime and puppet show for young children at 10:30 a.m., an interactive ocean science demonstration at 12:15 p.m., a family-friendly movie at approximately 1 p.m., and ocean animal trivia with prizes at 2:45 p.m.
