Polyrhythmics at The Ruins Nov. 18

Last year the Polyrhythmics released their sixth album “Color Red,” critics say songs from this album are “their most evocative and cinematic yet.” Expect a night of horn-driven Funk and syncopated Afro-beats from this eight-piece band guaranteed to make your body move. Thursday, Nov. 18, 6-9 p.m. at The Ruins in Hood River. Ticketed show, indoor venue and COVID guidelines in place for entry.

Chihuahua Desert at The Pines Nov. 19

Go South of the Border with the Chihuahua Desert Band, returning to The Pines Tasting Room in Hood River on Friday, Nov. 19, from 6-9 p.m. Heartfelt vocals, slide guitar and bass promise a night of Southwestern-tinged folk rock from this NW band.

Seniors Celebrated Nov. 17

The 2021 Wasco County Ageless Award Celebration, an event honoring amazing contributions from Wasco County seniors happens on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center, from 3-4 p.m. Honorees for the event include Sherry Munro, Mary Davis and the Fort Dalles Floozies, Duane and Sue Powell, and Darrell France. Desserts provided by Cherry Heights Living.

Al & Nolan awarded Best in Gorge for Music

It’s Official! The Dalles’ musicians Al and Nolan Hare have been awarded Best Local Band in Gorge Radio’s Best of the Gorge 2021 Contest. Beating out Hit Machine and Tony Smiley, Al and Nolan earned enough votes from the public to bring the coveted Trophy home, which won’t happen for a few weeks. Recent Reports say that both brothers are currently on Vacation out of state. Luckily, news nowadays travels fast! Congratulations!
