Artists of the Gorge exhibit planned
Artists interested in submitting work for the 42nd annual Artists of the Gorge juried exhibit have until September 8 to apply. Work will be shown in Stevenson, Wash, through the end of October. Winners announced Oct. 1, the top prize is $200. Paintings, sculpture, fabric art and other media were considered. For more information: visit https://www.fvrl.org/artists-gorge

Grand Royale at Ruins
Grand Royale is a Beastie Boys tribute band described as “one of the most visually and sonically captivating acts on the scene.” Expect tracks from the entire catalog with MCAint, Mike Double D, and BADRock, along with The White Castle Combo backup band. The Ruins in Hood River, Saturday, Aug. 28. This is a ticketed show.
Lloyd Jones at Pines Estate
The Pines Estate in The Dalles gets a summer outdoor party going on Saturday, Aug. 28, 6-9 p.m., with NW Blues legend Lloyd Jones. His new album is “Tennessee Run,” and it’s an album release celebration. Expect “high powered, horn-fueled rowdy roadhouse fare.” Tickets are available at the Hood River Tasting Room, limited to 150 guests.
Huckleberry Fest canceled
Organizers say they are saddened by the decision to cancel this year’s Huckleberry Festival held in Bingen, Wash., but say “it is the right thing to do” given the COVID surge in Klickitat County. Jennifer Batten and Full Steam concert Aug. 26
Families in the Park presents Jennifer Batten and Full Steam on Thursday, Aug. 26, at Jackson Park in Hood River. Batten’s career as a rock guitarist is most notable for several world tours with the King of Pop, Micheal Jackson. Calling Portland home, Batten has assembled a lineup of NW musicians for her new band, Full Steam, who specialize in 80s rock covers. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for this family concert event. Food/concessions are available. Park opens at 6 p.m.
