This Week in TDHS Athletics Feb 6-12th

It was another busy week for district athletics!

We are coming down the home stretch for the Winter Sports season, as we have teams preparing for the postseason as early as this week, while other programs are finishing their final couple of weeks of regular season play with the hopes of qualifying for state competition! Congratulations to our Seniors on the swim team as they celebrated Senior Night in Hood River this past week, and a shout out to Riverhawks Cheer for placing 3rd in Tualatin in the Last Chance Cheer Competition on Saturday! TDMS athletics also had a busy week with girls basketball having played Corbett and Estacada, while wrestling went on the road twice and continues to have success with several winners at White Salmon and Milton-Freewater. Let's take a look at what's coming up this week!

Monday, February 6th

  • No games or matches scheduled. Team practices as scheduled.

Tuesday, February 7th

  • Boys basketball vs. LaGrande (JV2 at Wahtonka 5pm, JV at Kurtz 5 pm, varsity at Kurtz 6:30 pm) (Admission Required)

  • It will be Riverhawks Senior Night for the Ski Team at Kurtz Gym either prior to the start of, or during halftime of the boys' varsity basketball game.

  • Girls basketball at LaGrande (We are attempting to cancel due to injuries) More details to be released upon confirmation.

Wednesday, February 8th

  • Girls MS Basketball vs. Welches (Games scheduled for 4:30 pm and 5:45 pm) at TDMS Gymnasiums #s 1 and 2

  • HS wrestling at Mt. View of Bend (Weigh-ins at 2:45 pm, matches begin at 4 pm) Dismissal and bus departure TBD.

  • MS wrestling at Wind River of Stevenson (matches being held at Stevenson High School) dismissal at 2:15 pm, bus departure at 2:30 pm

  • Tri-Valley Conference AD's Meeting in Sandy, Oregon 

Thursday, February 9th

  • Girls MS Basketball at Boring (7th grade A and B games at 4:30 pm, 8th grade game at 5:45 pm) dismissal at 1:45 pm, bus departure at 2:00 pm

Friday, February 10th

  • Girls basketball vs. Estacada (varsity at 6:30 pm at Kurtz, JV game TBD, if played at 5:00 pm at Kurtz) (Admission Required)

  • Boys basketball at Estacada (JV2 at 5 pm, JV at 5 pm, varsity at 6 pm) dismissal at 1:45 pm, bus departure at 2:00 pm

  • Cheer departs for State Cheer Competition at Oregon City, dismissal at lunch, bus departure at 12:20 pm

  • Swim departs for District Swim Meet in LaGrande, dismissal TBD, bus departure TBD. (Meet start time: 12:30 pm) Event location: Veterans Memorial Pool 401 Palmer Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850, 541-962-1347 (Admission Required)

  • MS Winter Dance at TDMS after school (NO TDMS MS ATHLETIC PRACTICES!!!)

Saturday, February 11th

  • Day 2 of District Swim (events begin at 11 am)

  • State Cheer Competition at Oregon City HS (19761 S. Beavercreek Rd.  Oregon City, OR 97045), performance time: 9:15 am. Purchase your tickets to State Cheer by clicking this link: https://www.osaa.org/tickets

Sunday, February 12th

  • Ski team is competing at Mt. Hood Meadows in the Giant Slalom.

News & Notes:

  • Be sure to come out to TDMS on Saturday, February 11th and catch some youth basketball tournament action, as The Dalles Basketball Club hosts multiple teams from around the state. Games begin at 8 am. (Admission Required: $7 for adults, $5 for children and students)

  • The last day for The Dalles Babe Ruth Baseball sign-ups are this coming Saturday, February 11th from 11 am to 1 pm in the Cousins Motel Registration Room. For more information, contact Mr. Butch Hert at 541-993-2230.

  • Raffle Tickets through the NWCSD #21 Ed Foundation are on sale now, and can be purchased from all extracurricular programs. When our teams are on the road, we still represent this community and our district. Please keep good sportsmanship and appropriate behavior in mind during contests. 

During Tri-Valley Conference play, admissions will be charged at the front door for varsity games at Kurtz Gym.
