Tinder dry conditions prompt Fire Fuels Information Night for forest land owners

The Dalles, Ore., July 23, 2024 —The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Oregon Department of Forestry and OSU Extension Agency is set to provide information on reducing fire fuels on forest land for landowners on Thursday, July 25 at 5:30 p.m.

It will be held at the Pine Grove Grange in the upper Hood River Valley. Information on funding assistance, creating defensible space, thinning forest land, and reducing ground fuels will be provided.

Red Alert warnings for low humidity, high temperatures, and strong winds make it crucial to be prepared in the event of a wildfire. The information offered at the meeting will assist landowners in making critical decisions to defend their property in the event of a fire.
