Michael Knopf, MCPO, US Navy, Retired led a prayer and shout out to all branches of the military today, Nov. 11 at Veterans Memorial at Sorosis Park in The Dalles.

During the Veterans Day event, one member of the Patriot Guard Riders collapsed, and an ambulance and fire engine arrived to assist.

David Christian, a member of Patriot Guard Riders, said he knew the man and he was recovering from surgeries related to a car accident several years ago. The man was conscious and able to wave to people in attendance after being put on a gurney and moved to the ambulance.

Called the Eleventh Month - Eleventh Day - Eleventh Hour, Rod Runyon said the events were hosted by several groups in response to the cancellation of the Annual Veterans Day Parade in The Dalles.

Knopf with Point Man Ministries started speaking at 11:30 a.m. and had the crowd shout out to each military branch- The Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard.

Groups involved in the day were Mid Columbia Veterans Memorial Committee Inc., Point Man Ministries, Patriot Guard Riders and Gorge Gospel Riders.
