Visit Hood River Launches 2024 Community Investment Matching Grant Program

Hood River, Ore. March 15, 2024 — Applications are now being accepted for Visit Hood River’s 2024 Community Investment Matching Grant Program, which is designed to support businesses and community economic vitality in the greater Hood River area. The grant application process will open on March 18, and applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. on April 5.

As stewards of community resources, Visit Hood River is dedicated to fostering economic vitality and responsible destination development in collaboration with local leaders. The program, entrusted with public and private funds, is committed to executing initiatives that sustain a thriving economy for Hood River's businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

The VHR Community Grant Program occurs annually. In 2024, the program will award as much as $50,000, in total for all projects awarded. Each project requires its application, and applicants must demonstrate the ability to meet the matching funding requirements.

"Supporting community vitality and reinvestment are at the heart of the VHR Community Investment Grant Program," stated Katie Kadlub, CEO of Visit Hood River. “VHR is honored to provide this opportunity annually. The program is committed to supporting projects that foster the development of new events, programs, and initiatives, which contribute to the enhancement, promotion, and sustainability of Hood River as a destination."

Since its inception in 2022, the program has awarded $39,300 in matching grants to businesses and organizations throughout the gorge. Examples include support for a non-profit focused on watersports activities and water safety, funding for The Heights Music Showcase, and assistance in developing collateral and online advertising for lodging properties to boost mid-week visitation.
