Celebrate White Salmon Arbor Day

white salmon arbor day

The City of White Salmon will celebrate Arbor Day on Saturday, March 20, 2021.

The City of White Salmon will be giving away a tree seedling and free bag of bark mulch for each family, while supplies last. Trees and mulch will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Rheingarten Park at the picnic pavilion in the SE corner of the park. Please practice COVID safety protocols when visiting the park to pick up a tree. Tree seedling species include Vine maple and Ponderosa Pine. More information on each tree species can be found on the city's website.

Trees are assets to a community when properly planted and maintained. They help to improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.

The City encourages everyone to plant, or care for, a tree on their property in celebration of Arbor Day 2021 and to get outside and appreciate the wonderful trees in our community. We celebrate 4 years as a Tree City USA, and look forward to celebrating the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day in 2022.
