Volunteers Needed for TD’s America 250 Celebration and Fort Dalles Fourth

The Dalles, Ore., June 23, 2026 — Organizers of the America 250 Community Celebration and Fort Dalles Fourth fireworks show are seeking volunteers to help support what is expected to be one of the largest Fourth of July celebrations in The Dalles in recent years.

The July 4 event will bring live music, food vendors, a beer garden, family activities and the Fort Dalles Fourth fireworks display to Lewis & Clark Festival Park in The Dalles. Organizers say additional volunteers are needed to help ensure the free community celebration runs smoothly.

Volunteer opportunities include event setup and teardown, information booth staffing, Discover Downtown Bingo support, volunteer check-in, vendor assistance, activity support, wayfinding and general event operations.

Organizers emphasize that volunteers do not need to commit to the entire day.

"Whether you can help for an hour, a single shift or the whole day, we'd love to have you join us," organizers said.

The celebration is a partnership between The Dalles Main Street Program and Fort Dalles Fourth and is part of the community's observance of America's 250th anniversary. The evening festivities will feature performances by bands: Whipsaw, The Strange Tones and That 90's Band. The night concludes with a fireworks show over the Columbia River.

Community members interested in volunteering are encouraged to complete a volunteer interest form and indicate their availability and areas of interest. Event organizers will follow up with additional details as the celebration approaches.
