Wasco County Fair & Rodeo Rides Into Tygh Valley With Four Days of Fun 2025

By Joshuah Albert

Tygh Valley, Ore., Aug. 12, 2025 — The Wasco County Fair & Rodeo opens Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Tygh Valley Fairgrounds, promising four days of rodeo competition, live music, family entertainment, and community traditions. Thanks to Waste Connections, opening-day admission is free for all.

Thursday features special games for children from preschool through 12 years old near the Family Stage, plus the annual Senior Lunch sponsored by Wasco Electric Cooperative, serving fried chicken and other treats to Wasco County seniors.

The NPRA Rodeo, sponsored by Noble Panels & Gates, returns with two nights of wild horse racing, followed each evening by the Sky Lites drone and laser light show sponsored by Google. Both events are included with fair admission.

After the lights fade, the Underriner Ford Stage comes alive — local favorites Got Your Six play Friday night, and Nashville recording artist and 2020 Grammy nominee Rhonda Funk performs Saturday.

Family attractions include the Masters Family Circus (three shows Thursday and three Saturday), the roaming humor of “Buck Trout,” interactive games at the Family Fun Center, and a cultural showcase by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs on Saturday evening. Sunday closes with the Demolition Derby.

Competitions span the fairgrounds — from baking contests with cash prizes to horse events awarding Overall High-Point and Reserve High-Point buckles. Children 9 and under can also participate in horse-free events. The Celebration of Horses runs all weekend, highlighting horsemanship skills.
