Hood River, Ore., April 27, 2026 — Working Hands Fermentation, a Hood River taproom and lager brewery, has partnered with local nonprofit Cascadia Wild to launch a month-long fundraiser in support of rare carnivore conservation. Throughout May, Working Hands will donate $1 from every pint of its newly released Cascadian Dark Lager to support the organization’s critical field research.

“We are excited to support the next season of the Wolverine Tracking Project, a volunteer-driven community science initiative that monitors rare carnivores in the Mt. Hood National Forest,” staff from Working Hands Fermentation shared. “This fundraiser will help spread awareness and create an opportunity for the community to directly sustain wildlife tracking efforts in our own backyard.”

The fundraiser kicks off on May 1st and aligns with the summer field season of the Wolverine Tracking Project, which will begin training new volunteers on May 13th. The project focuses on at-risk species that suffer from a lack of data, including wolverines, Sierra Nevada red foxes, and martens. Classified as at-risk by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, these carnivores play a critical role in Oregon’s wildlife food chains.

Funds raised will support the Wolverine Tracking project. The organization’s trained volunteers conduct track and sign surveys and deploy remote cameras to collect field data. The information gathered is analyzed and added to long-term regional datasets, enabling researchers to better understand species distribution, habitat use, and wildlife movement patterns. This data directly supports land managers in making informed decisions and improving conflict prevention in areas where sensitive species are present.
