Canby Youth Football Coach Indicted on sex abuse that allegedly occurred in Wasco County

Canby Youth Football Coach Indicted on sex abuse that allegedly occurred in Wasco County

From Wasco County District Attorney Matthew Ellis:

The Dalles, OR, September 26, 2022 – Yesterday, the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office arraigned Sean Boyd of Canby, Oregon on two counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree. The forty-one (41) year-old male is accused of fondling a thirteen-year-old girl last month in Wasco County, states District Attorney Matthew Ellis.

Boyd has worked as a youth sports coach in the greater Canby area. He regularly volunteered for multiple sports teams, specifically softball as an assistant coach. He also attended and supported other sports programs in the area. The school district and the youth sports program has been notified of these charges and the indictment against Boyd. The Wasco County Grand Jury indicted Boyd on August 30, 2023.

It is believed that there could possibly be other victims. The District Attorney’s Office is particularly concerned about young teenage or preteen girls with whom Boyd has had extensive contact through family or sports activities. If the public has information about Boyd or about other possible victims, please contact Det. Jeff Hall at the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office. They can be reached at 541-506-2580 or at sheriff@co.wasco.or.us.

This case is being handled by Special Deputy District Attorney Kara Davis.
