Obituary: Jack Meads

Jack Meads, born June 1, 1928 in Klickitat, Washington passed away on January 29, 2021 in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Minnesota at age 3 and then moved back to Klickitat in 1943 where he finished high school.

Jack married Doris Ann in 1947. They raised three children together in Klickitat.  He worked at the power plant after graduation in 1946.  He started in the cut up plant and then to the sawmill.  Jack moved to clean up at the plant followed by being the engineer and eventually Chief Engineer, retiring at the age of 59.

Jack and Doris Ann moved to White Salmon, Washington in 1985.  Doris Ann passed away in 2015 after 68 years of marriage to Jack.

Jack moved to Hood River, Oregon, and met Lynn Grossman, they married in 2016.  Their life together was cut short when Lynn passed away in December of 2020.

Jack was a very active person, enjoying hunting and fishing.  He also likes to travel and his trips included; Alaska, Scotland, Hawaii, Europe, and of course throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Jack will truly be missed by all.

A service of committal is planned for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at The Dalles I.O.O.F Three Mile Cemetery (Three Mile County Road, The Dalles, Oregon).
