To the Editor,
I greatly admire The Dalles Library for hosting so many community activities. It is amazing and wonderful.
However, to my disappointment, there wasn’t a Computer Club, so I asked if I could start one.
So, starting Wednesday, February 21, at 6:00 pm, I will be hosting the brand new “Coffee and Computers with Kimball” meeting. If you love (or need help with) computers and computing, please come on down and help us figure out what this darn club should be like.
I have over 40 years of computer experience involving large computer systems all the way down to tiny hobby computers. I’ve got stories.
Personally, I hope the club would be a help for people needing advice, assistance, recommendations and guidance about computers. It could cover:
• Assistance on software, programs, “apps”
• Repairing/building computers.
• Upgrades, updates. New operating systems.
• “War” stories and lessons learned.
• Or your own needs and wants
If you need help or would like to offer assistance with computers, please come. Help us make this new club useful and fun.
And help me think of a better name.
