To the Editor,
When comparing the Democratic and Republican party platforms I read, on the RNC website, “The RNC enthusiastically supports President Trump…” and “Resolved, That the Republican party has and will continue to enthusiastically support the President's America-first agenda.” One of the definitions of a cult is “an instance or great veneration of a person”.
Some of the warning signs on how to recognize a cult are: Zero tolerance for criticism or questions; Lack of meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget; Unreasonable fears about the outside world that often involve evil conspiracies and persecutions; Abuse of members; Records, books, articles, or programs documenting the abuses of the leader or group; A belief that the leader is right at all times; A belief that the leader is the exclusive means of knowing “.
Unfortunately, the Republican Party seems to have become a cult. Fellow citizens, please do not elect the leader of a cult to be the leader of our nation.
