Dear Editor,
In response to your May 25 article about cardiology at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, I want to reassure our community that MCMC will continue to offer uninterrupted cardiology services in The Dalles and Hood River despite the changes in our contract with OHSU.
For well over a decade, the cardiology program at MCMC has been an important part of the care we provide to our community, and while the relationship between MCMC and OHSU is evolving to meet changing times, that commitment is unwavering. As the May 25 article correctly stated, we are very close to announcing an agreement to transition cardiology services to an outstanding physician group that shares our commitment and that will be available to serve our present and future patients.
Be on the lookout for that announcement and know that MCMC will always make sure that local residents continue to have access to the best health care (including cardiology) found anywhere in the Gorge just as we have for the past 120 years.
