Dear Editor,
I currently serve as the past Chair of Columbia Gorge Community College’s Board of Education and as CGCC’s board representative for the Oregon Community College Association and I am the OCCA Vice-President.
As voters finalize their ballot, I write to encourage the voters of Wasco County to vote for Nate Stice. I’ve had the honor and opportunity to work with Nate in his role as a CGCC Budget Committee member, and recently through frequent conversation learned more about Nate’s background and motivations for running for CGCC’s College Board.
Nate is running for all of the right reasons: he wants to give back to our community and understands the value of CGCC and its impact on our community and the economy. He has the right background and skills for the job. Nate worked at the highest levels of higher education and has a thorough understanding of its importance. As staff at the University of Oregon, he advised university leadership on important decisions and advocated for students and the economy.
I am excited to welcome Nate to the board and to work with Nate to further improve on the already awesome work happening at CGCC. Please join me in voting for Nate.
