Esther Rose was on a long solo drive when she started writing the opening title track of Want, her stunning fifth album. At first, the words seemed almost like a joke, something to keep herself amused as the miles passed. “I want a puppy, but I don't want a mess. I want to know where I’m going without GPS,” she sang from behind the wheel. Soon, the idea snowballed into a list of desires that spanned existential, spiritual, and mundane; romantic to platonic to familial; at once wildly ambitious yet piercingly relatable; all set to a catchy melody that blends her pop instincts with country storytelling and the raw immediacy of a basement punk show. In other words, she was on her way to another classic Esther Rose song.

Sharon Silva and Erisy Watt are heading out together this summer, playing a run of West Coast shows from Seattle down through the California coast and desert. Described by No Depression as "what contemporary folk sounds like at its peak," Erisy Watt writes songs that move between quiet contemplation and playful curiosity. Her latest album, not either or but everything, explores connection, impermanence, and adaptation, drawing in part from the decade she spent teaching ecological field courses throughout Southeast Asia.

Born in Portland 23 years ago on a Mardi Gras Day, MarchFourth’s collaborative roster has evolved through many musical generations. The M4 family now spans from Oregon and Seattle all the way down to New Orleans.

Costumed as a psychedelic punk rock marching band circus troupe, M4’s show features electric bass, guitar, a 4-piece percussion corps, a 7-part horn section, dancers, acrobatics, stilt-walkers, a live visual artist, and a diverse musical repertoire.
