A phrase like “fine thanks and you” is often the polite and truncated outer-shell of a much longer, and more complicated story we all have. We use it like a dam to keep the buildup of our thoughts from spilling out onto others, though it’s not always clear who we’re protecting – them or us? Nevertheless, there are worlds behind the wall, for those who wish to explore. And such is the case for this record. It is painfully unsurprising to say that when the songs for Fine Thanks and You began to emerge, there was a lot of upheaval in the lives of people in this country and around the world. Meanwhile in my own personal life, I was moving through a profound loss, and the realness of this experience was creating some vivid existential sparks that the mind wanted to follow.

Izaak Opatz’s music has always been about longing, run through with nostalgia for the passed-by and out-of-reach. His first two albums, Mariachi Static and Extra Medium, were propelled by a longing for specific people and places, made relatable by wry humor, thoughtful simile and close observation. Songs that push back against the coercive pressure to indulge in small conveniences at the expense of personal privacy, a 20th-century attention span and the steady drip of a monthly subscription: I spend a lot of my time now, jumping through hoops / asking permission from a little screen convincing a robot that I’m not a robot / this future isn’t all it was cracked up to be...
ALEX DUNN is based out of the high desert of northern New Mexico. He has recorded alongside folk luminaries Anna Tivel and Eli West and he has had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Marty O'Reilly, Rachel Baiman, East Nash Grass, Kassi Valazza, Rainbow Girls, Hen House Prowlers, Sammy Brue, Shawn Hess, Izaak Opatz, Robbie Fulks and many more. His band includes some of the top musicians from the Four Corners region.

John Moreland with special guest Georgia Maq
Oklahoma's rootsy, heartfelt singer/songwriter lauded Americana and alt-country
Sunday, Oct. 18/$28 Advance // $33 Day of/5 p.m. Doors / 6 p.m. Show/All Ages
After an impressive 2010s run of albums that earned him a devoted fanbase, accolades from outlets like The New York Times, Fresh Air, and Pitchfork, and a place in the upper echelon of modern Americana singer-songwriters, John Moreland has already taken two unexpected turns this decade, both of which highlight his fierce artistic independence. First, he released a brilliant and sonically layered folk-electronica meditation on modern alienation, 2022’s Birds In The Ceiling, that took some of his fans by surprise. Then, after wrapping up a difficult tour behind that record in November 2022, he stopped working entirely. He took an entire year off from playing shows and didn’t use a smartphone for 6 months. “At the end of that year, I was just like ‘Nobody call me’. I needed to not do anything for a while and just process,” Moreland says. After nearly a decade in the limelight, constantly jostled by the expectations of his audience, the music industry, and anonymous strangers online, he carved out some time to rest, heal, and reflect for the first time.
Georgia Maq became something of a local hero as the leader of revered punk trio Camp Cope, calling out music industry sexism over fearsome indie rock salvos while garnering widespread international acclaim. A suite of singles in 'Someone Stranger' with Alice Ivy, 'Joe Rogan', 'tropical lush ice' and live EP recorded at the Sydney Opera House showcase the breadth of her taste and range.
