Art at The Heart pitches mural at Ekone ballpark

Goldendale, Wash., March 14, 205 – The Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce and its Art at the Heart of Goldendale committee are seeking artist proposals for a public art mural to be installed on a cargo container at the Little League field in Ekone Park.

The selected artist will create a 9-foot by 40-foot mural celebrating Little League baseball, incorporating the Goldendale Little League logo. The project aims to enhance a key community space while supporting local artists.

The winning artist will receive a $1,500 stipend, covering design, materials, and artist payment. The award will be distributed in two installments: 50 percent upon contract signing and 50 percent upon successful completion of the mural.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 10, 2025

Artists can submit proposals via the GGACC website at goldendalechamber.org/requestforproposals.

PROJECT TIMELINE:

March 14, 2025 – Submissions Open

April 10, 2025 – Submission Deadline

April 17, 2025 – Winning Proposal Announced

May 30, 2025 – Final Installation Deadline (weather permitting)

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION CRITERIA

Preference will be given to artists living or working within Central and Eastern Klickitat County. Proposals will be reviewed by a blind jury, including representatives from the Art at the Heart of Goldendale committee, the Little League Board, and a community member.

Selections will be based on:

Creativity and originality

Alignment with the project theme

Technical feasibility and durability

Ability to complete the project on time and within budget

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Medium: Acrylic latex exterior paint with a protective marine coating

Durability: Must withstand outdoor conditions for long-term display

Theme: Must include Little League baseball imagery and the Goldendale Little League logo
