Breaking News: 3 Acre Fire in Mosier, Structure Fire in Dufur

As of 9:45 AM, the fire is 100% contained and crews have begun mop-up, however, evacuation orders are still in place.

Mosier, OR, July 6, 2023— A fire has been reported in Mosier near Vensel Rd. The fire is approximately 3 acres at this time.

EVACUATIONS
Level 2: GET SET
evacuation has been ordered from 3300 Vensel Rd. to the intersection of Vensel Rd. and Ketchum Rd. in Mosier.
Level 1 : GET READY evacuation has been ordered for 2970 Vensel Road to the intersection of Vensel Road and Osborn Cutoff

Wasco County Sheriff’s Office has requested that people please stay clear of the area between Osborn Cutoff Rd. and Ketchum Rd. so that units can respond quickly. Units include Mid Columbia Fire Rescue, Mosier Fire, and Oregon Department of Forestry Central Oregon District.

“ODF and its partners are responding aggressively to try and keep the fire’s footprint as small as possible. The cause of the fire is under investigation,” read an ODF press release.

The Dalles area is currently in ‘High’ fire danger. Oregonians should remain aware of public and industry fire restrictions and actively practice wildfire prevention
