Candidates for 3 TD City Council seats must file by Aug. 27

From The City of The Dalles:

The Dalles, Oregon – For candidates intending to run in the upcoming November 5, 2024 General Election, packets are now available online and in the City Clerk’s office. Three City Councilor positions are open for election, each with a term of four years.

To qualify, candidates must be registered voters residing within the City limits for at least 12 months preceding their election or appointment to office. No candidate may run for more than one City office in a single election.

The filing period ends on August 27, 2024.

Council positions are at large and Positions 2,4,5 are open for filing. The only incumbent to file thus far is Dan Richardson for Position 4. Current Councilors Darcy Long and Rod Runyon have not filed for their positions, respectively Pos. 2 and Pos. 5. - Tom Peterson

City of The Dalles

The City of The Dalles, Oregon, is situated in the north-central part of the state on the Columbia River, the nation's second largest river. It is the county seat and the largest community in Wasco County. The Dalles is one of Oregon's most historical cities and was known earlier in its history as the town at the end of the Oregon Trail. The city was first incorporated by the Oregon Territorial Government in 1857 as “Dalles City” and was made the county seat shortly thereafter.
