Bargeway Pub’s Waterfront Wednesday goes out with a flood
Chris Baron performs some music for you that you’ve probably never heard before, he said on his website. “ I compose songs on the acoustic guitar, banjo or uke, or imagine them out of the air around me. “
His Friend Jake Riggs said"...It's not hard to tell that Baron was born to perform. From the solemn to the goofy, sentimental to grateful, his mannerisms and charisma effortlessly transition between the songs and the mood of the room. 'How can Chris be in all moods at all times?' you have asked many times. It took thousands of hours of stage time, thousands of gallons of beer and more heartbreak than the average human can endure. Go see Chris Baron live. He'll be the long-haired, tall approachable guy holding the guitar...and chances are he'll be smiling...

Raunchy. Crass. Spirited. Bluegrass genre music playing for the joy of music. The trio brought Jaimie Meldrum (Fiddle) and Bassist Jess Kunze (also of Countryside Ride) into the group and the chemistry of the unit congealed. Over the next year, they honed their harmonies, and sounds and pushed harder into melting bluegrass pickin’, rhythmic jams, pop culture inspired bluegrass medleys and smooth 3 part vocal harmonies. Longtime band friend Rory Johnson (Banjo) joined in 2019, the group has locked into a steady rhythm of performing rowdy and explosive shows around the pacific northwest. Ronnie Ontiveros jumped into the Bass slot in 2022 after Jess left to pursue a Bakery/coffeeshop business in Trout Lake.

Glitterfox, Indie Rockers from PDX channeling the Classic Rock greats, Americana and Folk, Thursday, Sept. 26, $20 Advance // $25 Day Of Show, 6 p.m. Doors / 7 p.m. Show, All Ages
The Portland based band Glitterfox has released five singles in just six months under their new record label Kill Rock Stars, with two more arriving this Spring. The band’s been growing steadily since “Drive” came out in August 2023, with their indie rock recipethat deftly balances Southern songwriting shine and nostalgia-fueled anthems. The four-piece band’s songwriters and front persons, married couple Solange Igoa andAndrea Walker, have always channeled their personal struggles as well as experiences as queer, neurodiverse individuals into their songwriting.Bassist Eric Stalker and drummer Blaine Heinonen bring a love of Americana, grunge, and dance music into the mix. All of these influences can be heard on the band’s latest singles, produced by Chris Funk of The Decemberists, and in their spirited live shows as they prepare for their full-length album debut in 2025.
Night Heron / Mega Cat, Down tempo grooves and afro-beat, hip hop, psychedelic music, Friday, Sept. 27, $10 Advance // $12 Day Of Show, 6 p.m. Doors / 7 p.m. Show, All Ages
Night Heron makes down tempo groovers that fall somewhere between Sade and Air. Their sophomore LP is due sometime in early 2025 but we may see some lead singles from them this summer.
Mega Cat is a disembodied multidimensional being most discernibly experienced as sound waves. It was first discovered in a basement home studio in the Central District of Seattle by audio chemists Aaron Benson (drums, percussion, guitar), Kim West (synthesizer, piano) and Ryan Devlin (bass, guitar.) Upon first encountering Mega Cat, all three researchers experienced a loss of time, body dissociation, euphoria, and ego death. Reports of holographic thought, enhanced perception, and minor instances of levitation have been widely documented from just one encounter with mega cat. Though the being doesn’t seem to use traditional language to communicate, Mega Cat transmits instrumental narratives that feel familiar to fans of 20th century science fiction, afro-beat, hip hop, and psychedelic music.
Saturday, Sept. 28, Never Come Down, Trout Lake Hall's 2nd Anniversary, $18 Advance // $20 Day Of Show, 6 p.m. Doors / 7 p.m. Show, 21+
Formed in 2017, Never Come Down was born from the vibrant if not occasionally overlooked music scene of Portland, Oregon. Much like the city that inspired them, they’re a smart, charming, off-beat amalgam of varied backgrounds and tastes. In today’s paradoxical world where honoring tradition is often pitted against exploration and innovation, the band confidently walks the line between the modern and the tried-and-true. They’ve gained a loyal following and continue to win over audiences everywhere from Reykjavik’s Iceland Airwaves to San Francisco’s acclaimed Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. They’ve gained the attention of industry veterans, and toured in support of notable acts such as Yonder Mountain String Band and The Travelin’ McCourys, among others. Never Come Down’s live performance never disappoints- with showmanship, originality, songwriting and musical prowess far beyond their years.
