Crack be Gone Crew hits Fourth Street, extends life of asphalt
Nate Munsen, 41 and Kory Seibel, 28, with The City of The Dalles sealed cracks on West Fourth Street this morning, June 1st.
The Work was working east on the street from West Third. Fourth street is closed for the duration of the work.
Munsen would fill the cracks with the hot slurry and Seibel would come in behind cooling the tar with a water solution.
The annual work along with chip sealing helps extend the life of the asphalt for years as sealed streets prevent potholing and frost heave during wetter and colder months.
And what a day for outdoor work, with a mild 68 degrees to work in this morning. Temps look to hit 80 degrees today. But that’s a far cry from a year ago when The Dalles was close to 100 as a brutal heat wave was in our midst.
And don’t put your jackets away just yet. Forecasters are calling for more rain this weekend.
Can you hear that wheat growing?
