Cruise the Gorge Rolls Into The Dalles for 32nd Year With TV Cameras, Classic Cars
The Dalles, Ore., Aug. 8, 2025 — The 32nd annual Cruise the Gorge weekend is set to roll into The Dalles starting Friday, featuring classic cars, live filming for national television, and a full schedule of events for auto enthusiasts.
Television personality Dennis Gage will be in town filming an episode of My Classic Car, including coverage of Friday night’s popular “Neon Cruise” in downtown The Dalles. The open cruise, which runs from 7 to 9:45 p.m., invites anyone with a classic or specialty car to join in, with one rule — no burnouts. Crowds traditionally line the sidewalks along Second and Third streets to watch the parade of polished chrome and vintage horsepower.
Several downtown businesses will host special events during the cruise. From 4 to 7 p.m., participants can pre-register for the weekend’s shows, pick up goodie bags, and purchase T-shirts, hats, and raffle tickets at Burgerville on Third Street.
On Saturday, the “Show in the Shade” will take over Sorosis Park, 300 E. Scenic Drive. Registration opens at 9 a.m., with judging continuing until 1 p.m. The Parade of Champions awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. The first 250 vehicles to register will receive goodie bags and dash plaques. Pre-entry is $20, or $25 after July 31. More than 40 awards will be given, along with food and specialty vendors, oldies music, and raffle prizes.
Saturday evening’s events will include the 6th Street Station Cruise Nite from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2638 W. Sixth St.
The weekend concludes Sunday with the Dufur Threshing Bee Car Show at Dufur Community Park, 13 miles south of The Dalles. The show begins at 9 a.m. and runs alongside the community’s annual heritage celebration.
