Dallesport RV Fire "A total loss"
By Cole Goodwin
An abandoned RV caught fire in Dallesport the evening of July 11th, 2022.
Five volunteer firefighters from Dallesport Volunteer Fire District 6 responded to the call, two responded on the engine, one on a tender, and two on a brush truck as support.
"When we got on scene it was fully engulfed in flames," said Darren Lacock, Assistant Fire Chief. "We started making a hose line and made an advance. The propane tanks, that were on board the RV started venting and then both of them exploded catching the surrounding terrain and vegetation on fire."
Fire crews then had to turn their attention to extinguishing the vegetation fire before it got out of hand before returning their attention to the motorhome.
"It took us about twenty minutes to extinguish it," said Lacock.
The fire completely destroyed the RV and burned about a sixteenth of an acre.
No cause of the fire could be determined due to how severe the fire damage was.
“It was a total loss,” said Lacock.
