Downtown Beautification Grants Offer Up to $300 for Storefront Improvements

The Dalles, Ore., May 20, 2026 — The City of The Dalles Beautification and Tree Committee is pleased to announce the 2026 Downtown Beautification Grant. This grant provides reimbursement of up to $300 to eligible downtown businesses and property owners for projects that enhance the visual appeal of their storefronts.

The purpose of the program is to encourage improvements that support a welcoming and vibrant downtown. Qualifying projects may include flowers, greenery, planters, and long-lasting infrastructure and other durable beautification improvements.

Applications are due by June 1, 2026, by 3 p.m. Grant recipients will be notified by June 3, 2026. Approved projects must be completed during the 2026 growing season, and recipients are required to maintain their improvements throughout the season.

The program area includes the downtown commercial zone and surrounding eligible commercial areas, as identified on the program map. Business owners and property owners within the program area are invited to apply.
