E 9th St. Pavement Preservation Project - Monday, May 4, 2026, through Thursday, May 14, 2026

The Dalles, Ore., May 2, 2026 — The City of The Dalles Public Works Department will work on a pavement preservation project on Monday, May 4, 2026, through Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the following location:
Phase 1: E 9th St. from Oregon St. to E 10th St. – Full street closure on E 9th St. from Oregon St. to E 10th St. and a partial lane closure on E 10th St. between Quinton St. and Roberts St. will remain in place from Monday, May 4, 2026, to Thursday, May 7, 2026. Motor vehicles and bicyclists will be detoured to adjacent side streets.
E 10 th St. will be fully open by Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Phase 2: E 9th St. from Oregon St. to E 10 th St. – Full street closure on E 9th St. from Oregon St. to E 10 th St. from Monday, May 11, 2026, to Thursday, May 14, 2026. Motor vehicles and bicyclists will be detoured to adjacent side streets.
Pedestrian and sidewalk access will remain open through the duration of this work.
Work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
For safety reasons, parking on E 9th Street within the work zone will not be allowed until the project is complete.
The purpose of this project is to grind out and replace the cut and patched pavement affected by a recently completed sanitary and storm sewer upgrade. This street work is expected to restore the pavement structure and provide a smoother and safer roadway.
Please proceed with caution around work areas during construction times and observe all temporary traffic control devices. Thank you for your attention to traveling safety during this work.
