The Dalles, Ore. July 2, 2024 – After months of dedicated work, Farm Stand, a community market and farm-to-table café, opened its doors today at 315 Federal Street, The Dalles.
The new establishment is committed to providing fresh, organic, and locally sourced food to the community.
Farm Stand offers organic produce, free-range meats, cheeses, breads, and a variety of healthy snacks and cereals. Additionally, the market features a selection of wines, beers, and ciders.
Sarah Stelzer, the regional manager at Farm Stand and a member of the Stelzer family, spoke with CCCNews about the opening.
"The community helped a lot with the opening. I was blown away by how many people showed up with such little advertising," she said.
Stelzer acknowledged the challenges faced in getting the market ready.
"There have been several bumps in getting us set up. We haven't been home for two weeks except to sleep," she said.
Despite the hurdles, Stelzer emphasized the positive experience of working closely with her family.
"It's been a really good bonding opportunity with my siblings. This has been a family effort. We would have work parties where the whole family would show up to ensure we open on time."
With the market now open, Stelzer expressed her relief. "Now that we are open, I'm excited to take a nap," she said.
Farm Stand’s opening marks a new chapter for The Dalles, providing residents with access to high-quality, locally sourced food and fostering a sense of community through its farm-to-table offerings.
